Emergency Fire Cider Shot (Same-Day, Use-What-You-Have Version)
Sometimes you feel something coming on and you can’t leave the house.
This is a quick, same-day fire cider–style shot you can make with fresh, frozen, or powdered ingredients – no long infusions, no special shopping, no perfection required.
This is not a traditional months-long fire cider.
This is support in the moment.
What This Is For
- When symptoms are just starting
- When lingering symptoms just won't stop
- When you’re stuck at home
- When you need something now, not in 4 weeks
- When you’re working with whatever is already in your kitchen
Base Liquid (Choose One)
Use what you tolerate and have. These are all acceptable.
- Apple cider vinegar
- White vinegar (distilled)
- Lemon or lime juice (fresh or bottled)
- Orange juice (less spicy, more palatable)
- Water + splash of vinegar or citrus
- Bone broth (savory option)
You’ll need ½–¾ cup liquid total.
Core Ingredients (Flexible)
Choose at least 3–4 from this list. More is fine.
Fresh or Frozen Options
- Ginger (thumb-size piece or 1–2 tsp grated)
- Turmeric root (small piece)
- Onion (¼–½, any kind)
- Garlic (1–3 cloves)
- Citrus peel (lemon, lime, or orange)
Powdered / Dried Options
- Ginger powder – ½–1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
- Garlic powder – ½–1 tsp
- Onion powder – ½ tsp
- Cayenne – pinch to ¼ tsp
- Black pepper – pinch
You do not need everything.
Optional Add-Ins
- Honey or maple syrup (1–2 tbsp, to taste)
- Horseradish (fresh or jarred)
- Cinnamon
- Cloves
- Thyme or oregano (fresh, dried, or powdered)
Quick Method (5–10 Minutes)
1. Add everything to a blender or jar
-
- Liquid first
- Then herbs, spices, and add-ins
2. Blend or shake hard
-
- Blend until mostly smooth
- Or shake aggressively in a jar for 30–60 seconds
3. Strain or don’t – your choice
-
- Straining makes it easier to take
- Leaving pulp adds intensity
4. Taste & adjust
-
- Too strong – add more liquid
- Too mild – add more spice
- Too harsh – add honey
How to Use
- Take 1–2 tablespoons as a shot
- Can be taken 1–2 times daily
- Can be diluted in warm water if needed
This is short-term support, not something meant for daily long-term use.
Storage
- Store in a sealed glass jar
- Refrigerate
- Best used within 24–72 hours
Make It Your Own
This recipe is intentionally loose.
You can:
- Skip ingredients you don’t tolerate
- Swap powders for fresh or frozen
- Use citrus instead of vinegar
- Make it spicier or gentler
The goal is support, not perfection.
